Regarding the anthropological tourist values, churches St. Nikola and St. Dimitrija, dating from 14th century, attract biggest attention.
From the oriental culture the Black and the White mosque are characteristic, as is the very attractive and the beautiful Saat Kula (Clock Tower) that dominates over the town.
One of the biggest Macedonian poets and revolutionaries Koco Racin was born in this town, and in his honor every year Racin’s meetings are held, and the house where he was born is transformed into monument-museum.
From the natural tourist resources, besides river Vardar, near the town Veles, rivers Topolka and Babuna are placed, rich with fish fond. But the most attractive is the artificial lake Mladost ("Youth"), located 9 kilometers north from the town. The lake itself represents very popular tourist destination and it is the main holiday resort for the citizens and tourists.
Not less attractive is one of the highest mountain picks in Republic of Macedonia - Solunska Glava (2540 meters), as well as the mountain house "Ceples", where pleasant accommodation can be found at any time.
The so-called "Nezilovi Steni" and the spring of river Babuna, represent real tourist values. The river Babuna in its flow passes through one beautiful canyon and on its both sides around ten cave churches are located as eagle nests, and they look very impressive in this wonderful landscape.
