Under the magnificent Šara Mountain, whose high white peaks seem as if they were touching the sky, Tetovo lives its life of small stores, apprentices and bazaar activities and talks.

Tetovo is at the same time a small open museum where every visitor can see the traces of different cultures and everlasting spiritual treasure, creating breathtaking works of art. 

The older Tetovo inhabitants proudly talk about beginnings and the history of this town and enjoy telling the story of the fearless hero Teto, who killed the horrifying snake and let the people walk safely along the road that led to the place where the town is today.  He was the first to come and live there after he had killed the snake and the town got the name Tetovo after him.
