The church St. Nikola, 14th century

Unfortunately up to today, in the church itself, no written historical writings, for the time of its building and fresco-painting, have been found, neither any inscription for the fresco-painters. According to the today’s condition of the church it can be concluded that the church was neglected for a long time and that it has been renovated in recent time. The fresco-paintings in its interior are almost completely destroyed.

In its architectonic structure the church St. Nikola is single-nave, small by dimensions, with three-sided apse on east and entrance on the west side. The church has been built from cut stone, with various horizontal and vertical rows of cut scale and bricks. According to the way of its building this church belongs to temples characteristic for our middle century art, mainly by the end of 14th century.

In recent times on the west side, a porch has been added, and part of the apse has been restored.

From the initial icon-fresco-painting two compositions in the apse itself, are kept, like: Holy Mother of God Sirshaja Nebes" and "Pricestuvanje na apostolite" (Communion of apostles).

Considering the ideas for weeding of facades, style and art distinctions, characteristic for the fresco-painting from the 14th century, this church has been built and fresco-painted in 14th century.

In the period between two world wars, in 1939, in the niches on the south and north side of the naos, faces of St. Nikola and Holy Archangel Mihail are painted on the door of iconostasis.
