| On the road that leads to Gradsko when you leave Veles, on the right side of the road, the monastery St. Dimitrija is located. On the inscription that is still on the south side of the vault, it is mentioned: "Sei obitel obnovisja vo 1855 g. izobrezi H.Kosta zograph" (this church is restored in 1855 by the icon painter H.Kosta). | |

The monastery church St. Dimitrija, 14th century, renovated in the 19th century |
On one art of painting, property of the church, the portrait of Petar Zdravev is painted by Georgi Zographski in year 1942, on which the following inscription is saved: "Po bozie vdahovenie do Petar Zdravevotkopa natrpani monastery St. Velikomucenik Dimitrija 1855. Pocina 1867g. Podar. Mehandi esnaf. 1942 napisa se zelanie igumen Aleksie".
On basis of these preserved data it is supposed that church St. Dimitrija, in some time not known for us, was more seriously in the architecture and in the initial fresco-painting. This can be explained with the devotion of P. Zdravev from Veles, who completely renovated with funds from more eminent citizens, and fresco-painted by Veles fresco-painter Hadzi Kosta / Kostadin / Krstev. Later on the abbot Alkesej knowing about the big restoration of the church done by Petar Zdravev, managed to do his portrait according to a photo, painted by the famous icon painter Georgi Zographski.
The church St. Dimitrija is a single-nave with three-side apse (part of the church behind the iconostasis) on the east outer side. On the west side there is narthex above which a tower with belfry is placed. This is one characteristic according which the church separates from other middle-century churches in Macedonia. The church has been built from cut stone, but in order to achieve polychromatic effect, bricks with links of mortar have been used. The facades themselves are embellished with ornaments, like: chess, meanders ... The sides of the apse are divided with blind niches and arcades, and the wreath in the upper part is decorated by bricks. Entrances and windows on the north side are asymmetrically placed ended in half circle.
Because of these characteristics, this monastery church dedicated to Great martyr and soldier Dimitrija, is presumed to have been built in 14th century.
