The church St.Bogorodica (St. Nikola, Summer), village of Sušica, ,13th/14th century |
It has a form of single-nave church with semicircular dome, built of cut stone and bricks, with small outlets on the southern, northern and eastern walls in the altar apse. Its fresco-decoration is in very bad condition. According to the stylish features of the frescoes that are in better condition, could be indicated that the end of 13th and beginning of 14th century is the time of its construction. Amongst better preserved compositions distinguish the scenes The Lord Jesus Enters Jerusalem, Nativity of Holy Mother of God and The Dormition of Bogorodica, that tell about the great talent expressed through the courageous expression of the fine arts evidence of the mysterious painter. There are several preserved portraits of donors and rulers that are presented almost in their natural size.
