Holy Mother of God - Kamensko, Ohrid
This church is located on fifty meters east of the old Ohrid cinar (maple), built in 14th century as a small chapel, but repaired and extended in 19th century. On the outer part of the east side the year 1832 is marked on a stone.
According the inscription above the south door from the inner side, the church "Dormition of the Virgin-Kamensko" was painted in 1863 by the painter Dico from the village of Tresonce, and in 1924 the fresco-decorations were repainted.
What impresses in this church is the iconostasis that had been engraved in 1867. On the Royal Doors (the two doors of an iconostasis) in the lower part there are painted images of St. Kiril and Metodij, St.Kliment Ohridski and St.Atanasie.
Above one of the throne icons "Dormition of the Virgin", painted by Gorgi Manuil in 1845, there is an inscription saying that one part of the iconostasis was done by Hristo Cvetko - in memory.
According the inscription above the lunette above the Royal Doors, it could be seen that in 1867 the whole iconostasis was plated and it was paid by Stefan Trimce Rekali.
The iconostasis is work of Mijacki masters and according its construction is divided into five horizontal fields and it is entwined with various scenes of flora and fauna of Ohrid coast.
