ST. GEORGE THE VICTORIOUS, MLADO NAGORICHANE, THE KUMANOVO REGION
| Near the village Mlado Nagorichane in the Kumanovo region, beside the archeological site Kostoperski rid and the church of St. Petka there is another cultural monument, which is an evidence of the cultural continuity of this region. It is the church dedicated to St. George the Victorious, which some scientific circles relate to the church of St. George in the village Staro Nagoricane, and consider it to have been built in the 11th century. However, other researchers consider that it was built during the ruling of the despot Stevan Lazarevic in the 15th century. | |

The church St. Gjorgji Pobedonosec, village of Mlado Nagoricane, 11th/15th century |
The cross-shaped church was constructed on a rectangular area and it has three-side apse from the outside and a wider narthex than the naos. The church façade is impressive. It is made of nicely cut stone, while the windows are made of bricks and there are also decorative impressions in stone.
The frescoes, which are believed to have covered the inside walls of the church, have not been preserved.
