Volkashin and Marko:

A church was built by Volkashin and Marko,

A church by the name of Holy Archangel,

Next to their towers above Varos,

They built it for nine years,

All made of marble and columns,

And the roof was all made by silver plates,

The icons of pure gold.

On the door, Volkashin signed his name,

His son, Marko envied him,

And he also signed his name on the left side,

In royal clothes and crowns,

They wanted to celebrate its opening.

They invited officials and archbishops

To come from Ohrid and bless the church.

They invited priests and monks

They invited kings and lords,

And people from all over.

As they invited all

They all came

And blessed the monastery

Everybody was served a feast

On three honorable tables:

The first table served archbishops and bishops

And priests and monks;

The second one served kings and lords,

And the third one served all other Christians
