Vrutok - the source of river Vardar

As a town of renowned masters of crafts (smiths, leather-processors,  tailors) and a town the image  of which was constituted by the small craftsmen shops, Gostivar was one of the most attractive centers in that region.

The name of the town speaks best about the mentality of its people (gostin means guest). Gostivar is a town of kind people, always in a good mood and ready to offer hospitality to the visitors.

In the vicinity of the town, at just 10 km from it is the village of Vrutok and in it the limestone source, where the biggest Macedonian river, the Vardar, springs from.

Very near to Gostivar is the National park Mavrovo.
